Bulk actions are efficient ways to update and manage your contact records.

  • Use Bulk Upload to load files into the database to create new records or update existing ones.
  • Use Bulk Apply to add or update the same value to a group of contacts through Create a list.

For example, if you have a list of contacts with various Activist Codes and want to update their records to reflect these codes, perform a bulk upload with the Bulk Upload Wizard. If you have a list of contacts that share the same Activist Code, update their records by selecting Bulk Apply in My List.

You can also bulk delete contact records, contributions and disbursements.

Bulk Upload approval

In some cases, your upload may need to be approved by your administrator.  All Contacts uploads will need to be approved before the upload will process. If your file needs approval, you will see a notice under it.

Using Bulk Apply

If you need to apply the same value of a field or multiple fields to a group of records that already exist in the database, you can Create a list and use Bulk Apply.
Bulk Apply is similar to Bulk Upload
. Use the mapping tool to select fields you want to change and to enter values you want the records in your list to have for that field.

Undoing a Bulk Upload

Bulk uploads can only be reversed by our data team. Data services that take more than an hour to perform are considered custom and could be billable. Be careful about bulk uploads, ensuring that the data is clean. Consider loading a small sample of the file first and reviewing the records to check for any errors.
