We recently migrated to bonterra payments, it seems like the amount of time we spend reconciling EveryAction donations has doubled. The payment gateway we previously used charged one lump sum for processing fees monthly.  Bonterra payments charge fees on each individual donation. However, there is no single report that can pull donation data that includes: source code, financial batch, donation amount, settlement batch info and processing fees.  So far we’re having to:download a report filtered by payment gateway in EA reports that includes source code, general ledger code, donation amount, covered costs, financial batch, settlement date - sort by settlement date go to bonterra payment gateway download batch info one by one for each payout date that includes processing fees, net payout  (arduous due to inability to open batches in new browser tab, and filters reset each time you navigate away from filtered results) then match,

Hi, I’d like to give my accountant access to the Bonterra Gateway area of the website so they can look at payment gateway payout details without having to go through me.Is that possible? How do you deal with this?Thanks for feedback

Hi, I need to remove some images from the content library but seem to only be able to edit the images themselves, adding filters, etc. I need to DELETE them or RENAME them “do not use.”Thanks for your brains,Jacki

I’ve been synching zoom webinars to EA events & online forms but have not figured out how to set up a form that honors a “no” rsvp. I want to be able to exclude no replies from further outreach so I had include “no” as an option on the EA form, but anyone who responds at all gets pushed to zoom and receives an email from zoom with the join info… which is confusing for people who have just said they can’t make it. I’ve since only allowed an “rsvp-yes” option to avoid that confusion, but then I can’t track who has seen the invite email and can’t make it (unless they respond to me directly). Am I missing something? Please help 😊 Thanks!

I use the activist codes type Email Interest to run several email lists.  On our unsubscribe page we allow people to edit their email preferences and they can add or opt-out of them email list. I want to create a list to see how many people have done that. There seems to be no one to search in “Build a list” of  people who have taken off an activist code. Does anyone know how to do this?

We have an EA client who is asking for some functionality that we’re unsure is offered out-of-the-box. They would like their donation forms to be able to include a dropdown or selector for donors to choose a specific program or project to designate their gift for. The issue is that they need the contribution source code to dynamically change based on what the user selects in the dropdown.  Is this something other EA clients have enabled through custom theme code? Or is there a way to enable this type of functionality with existing Online Action form options? I have to assume other organizations have needed similar flexibility for donors to restrict gifts to certain projects.

I wanted to put out a call for virtual/remote volunteer opportunities at your nonprofits. In conversations with corporate funders, virtual and/or remote volunteering opportunities always come up as something they would like to know more about and be able to recommend to their home-based staff. Hi Everyone, I wanted to make a quick plug for Office Hours with Rachel and Chase.Also the title was clickbait, so feel free to disregard if you only came for the drama.I was a late registrant today, and so didn’t get around to posting any questions. When I showed up for the session, it was just me, Rachel, and Chase on the call. One more person showed up for a little bit before logging off. For one hour, it was legitimately just the three of us, and they sat there answering every single question that I threw at them rapid fire. They both took turns listing use cases for various features I was curious about and gave great context for how to use the tool while also sending links for further reading. I would recommend people get in sooner rather than later. I think I got lucky to get the two of them for a whole hour, and I imagine it will be different once attendance starts picking up. I have found that reports based on saved searches are not immediately updating themselves and get stuck with results from a prior report run even though the searches themselves return accurate updated results and I don’t know why this is happening.  Happened most recently today: I createe a custom report template based on a saved search several days ago It ran perfectly and the results were correct.  The saved search produced 3 hits and the report had 3 rows My saved search was based on an staff assignments.  I did a bulk upload today that applied staff assignments to additional records I reran the report and expect there to be 79 rows. There’s the same 3 rows as before I ran the saved search. There are 79 contacts as expected  So my report is stuck with the old results from over a week ago (i.e. the result it had when I first and last ran the report).  If there’s a built in lag it seems significant (i

Hello! I am writing this message a little out of desperation to see if I can get the attention of someone in Bonterra - because I’ve sent multiple requests to the Billing through Bonterra’s support portal (https://www.bonterratech.com/support), and have also emailed collections@bonterratech.com and responded to the emails we received and have not received a response from anyone through any of these methods in months. Last year, we received two separate invoices for the same service. We paid the first one which was for the correct amount, and explained to Bonterra that the second invoice was an error - since it was for the incorrect amount and we had already paid the annual subscription a few months prior. Someone from Bonterra emailed us and confirmed that the invo

I have staff members saying that since last week, they have not been able to send out draft emails to people. Any one else having this issue? 

For the 501c3 orgs that use EveryAction, this question is for us. United Way and other workplace giving/3rd party gift processors love to take processing or admin fees out of the pledges. This creates chaos in properly recording the donor’s gift! How are you recording these gifts and, ideally giving the donor credit? Pledges--how are you reflecting them being paid, since UW takes forever to payout pledges? Soft Credits--how do you know which donor to attribute the gift to? And of course, if you sync your EA donations with your org’s Finance Dept, how do you make sure these gifts aren’t being double counted? I’d love to hear from anyone who has figured out a way to make this work.

How are other folks using the list or reporting tools in order to prepare 990 reports annually?I’m trying to create a list of households or businesses that gave $X+ across a specific revenue stream and date range (our fiscal year). This is important for our tax filings but also for major donor identification, board reports, and campaign planning.The fact that EveryAction's Create a List can't filter by Revenue Stream, and the reporting tools don't easily support "show me households that gave $X+ across specific revenue streams in a date range" means you're stuck with manual workarounds for a fundamental fundraising task.Anyone else come up with an easy solution?

Question for non-Bonterra staff…. Has anyone had success resolving issues with accounting?Please respond with a direct message - I’d love to connect for advice. On a few occasions, we’ve had some major disconnect between our account manager (main advocate within Bonterra), and Bonterra’s accounting office. Seems to be a regular occurrence that we’re told things are resolved, and then need to be re-resolved. It’s been a major headache.If anyone has a success story - and some tips, I’m all ears. An employee recently left our company but had several Scheduled Reports that no longer run.  Is there any way to change the ownership of the Reports?  What about Saved Searches?  Are there any other best practices that should take place before someone leaves in order to avoid failed reports?

In fielding a request from one of our program teams, I realized that county information is available irregularly across the default reports - In my case, county information was not available in the “Online Form Custom Question Response.”Is is possible to request data fields be made available on particular reports? Or a good resource to understand what fields generally are available on what reports? For the time being, our program team got what they were looking for - I know we can do some “post-processing” in excel for an easy join, but ideally this would be a relatively self-serve report for the program teams. I appreciate any feedback from the community!

A client who is migrating to EA wants to recreate it’s premium gift forms and is frustrated that if a particular premium has different options (for example different colors of the same water bottle, or different sizes of the same tshirt) they need to create a separate premium for each variant that doesn’t work well in terms of the user experience. Apparently the premium gift option in Luminate (from whence they are migrating) doesn’t have this same limitation -- They have a dropdown that gives the option of selecting a tshirt (and from within that choice, a dropdown selecting the specific size) or “thanks, no tshirt”Has anyone encountered an elegant solution or workaround for this issue?Even if it involves a front end dev using Javascript for example?
