Question

Conditional confirmation text based on custom question response

I’m setting up an event that has a custom question asking which timeslot they’d like to choose. For example

Session:

  • A
  • B
  • C

The confirmation page would have a different sentence with a unique Zoom link based on that response.

Thank you everyone!

Hey there! Great question. You can try setting this up but with conditional logic on your confirmation page.

Here's the step-by-step:

Setting it up:

  1. Add the custom question on the Build Page. Radio Buttons or Single Select-Dropdown work best for "Session: A / B / C."
  2. Create the three Zoom meetings and note each link.
  3. On the Confirmation Page step, insert the custom question from the Merge Field dropdown. Copy the exact field name it generates rather than typing it.
  4. Build one conditional block per session, for example: {{ if equals(<field>,'A') }}[Session A + link]{{ else if … }}…{{ else }}[fallback]{{ end }}. Always include a final else—badly formed conditionals cause the "Form has not been published" error.
  5. Put the same blocks in the confirmation email. Merge fields available there differ from the form, so use that dropdown too.
  6. Submit a test signup for each option and confirm the right link appears.

Important heads up:

If the event is linked to a Zoom meeting through the integration, Zoom sends its own confirmation with that meeting's credentials. That would conflict with per-session links, so don't link the event directly.

The simpler alternative is three separate events, each linked to its own Zoom meeting—depending on your setup, that might be less friction!

I'd recommend checking with your Account Manager or our Support team for the specific merge code syntax or conditional logic options available in your EveryAction setup, as confirmation page personalization varies by configuration.

Hope this helps!
