My organization has about a dozen events each spring and fall that are the same format but have different dates, times, and locations. People sign up through ticketed event forms. We want to send email reminders to registrants prior to the event (preferably 10 days out and 2 days out) and are trying to figure out the most straightforward way to do this. I’ve found two routes that each have their own challenges:Creating a workflow automation that uses a saved search with event (narrowed to the parameters so we’re not getting other event registrants in this flow) start date 10 days out, which will trigger sending an email. We love the set-it-and-monitor-it format of this, but the (major) drawback is that it sends a generic email. In some cases, people are registering almost 2 months in advance, so having them dig back in their emails for event details is a big ask. Question for non-Bonterra staff…. Has anyone had success resolving issues with accounting?Please respond with a direct message - I’d love to connect for advice. On a few occasions, we’ve had some major disconnect between our account manager (main advocate within Bonterra), and Bonterra’s accounting office. Seems to be a regular occurrence that we’re told things are resolved, and then need to be re-resolved. It’s been a major headache.If anyone has a success story - and some tips, I’m all ears. I would like to recognize long-term recurring donors in ways that go beyond the initial letter we send after the first contribution and the email receipts that come with each monthly contribution. Much like the Contribution Acknowledgement Report, I would ideally like to generate letters on EveryAction and add a record to each person who is sent a letter. I would like it to include details that are available in the Recurring Commitment Report, like:Amount Frequency Start Date Total Contributions Received to Date Plus all of the fields required for sending a letter (name, address, etc.)Ideally, it would be great to have a Mail Merge Template that works for this purpose, or a way to generate a report that could be paired with a Word document to do my own mail merge. Hello! Does anyone use a Wix website and embed EveryAction donation forms with Apple Pay as a payment method? If so, I’d love to hear how you accomplished it. We’ve been helping a client with this, and have run into a few challenges since Wix tends to prioritize embedding through iframes, which can mask some things. For example, previously we successfully found a way to get an Optimized Form button to work as an embed using Velo (it didn't work in the native Wix embed), but are now struggling with helping Apple Pay to recognize the verified domain file in the .well-known directory for the embedded form.If we need to, we have a web developer we can go back to, but am wondering if there’s any community wisdom someone could share first. Thanks in advance!

Here’s something that would add to the functionality of Report Manager and would make it even more flexible and usable: a report format for “Every contact in the database” and the ability to include use Edit Columns to include any column that is available in all/most of the other formats that report on contacts, contributions, online forms, etc. Plus, activist codes and all emails attached to the contact record. Contribution summaries, advocacy/online form summaries, and so on too. The scenario I’m describing is when we need to see a list of everyone in the database along with their emails and specific activist codes they have (yes/no). It’s somewhat similar to the Export Format called Standard Text, since that allows you to include Activist Codes one by one and to include Personal Email, Work Email, Preferred Email, Other Email. I could see including Other Email 2, Other Email 3, and so on if a contact has many, many emails.I know Export Formats exist, but they don’t

I am getting horizontal lines appearing between my rows in emails built with the Drag & Drop editor.In the screenshot below, individual rows appear with slight blue horizontal lines between them. The cells have padding, but no border. Is this the expected behavior?

Lapsed donors are often treated as one large segment — but a donor who gave 11 months ago is very different from someone who hasn’t given in three years. The most successful reactivation work I’ve seen starts with clear segmentation and simple execution.Here are a few approaches that consistently perform well:Define your lapse tiers.Create saved searches based on last contribution date (e.g., 9–15 months, 16–36 months, 3+ years). Hi All - I posted this under the Fundraising community, but sharing here as well….Curious if there are other organizations represented here that are primarily working with a Catholic audience?I’d love to connect and swap notes around things like how you handle religious prefixes and suffixes - and how you work around character limits, how you’ve organized tracking for nuns or priests within specific orders. We try to keep everything correct in the Formal Envelope Name field, but it would still be nice to use create-a-list to find all the “OFM Cap” suffixes for example.  

Hello! We recently hosted an event that reached capacity, so we added a waitlist option by creating a $0.00 “Waitlist” ticket to manage additional interest. This event is one of our paid trainings with limited capacity.When someone is moved from the waitlist to the participant list, we ask them to submit their payment as a donation, since they already completed the full registration questions when joining the waitlist.​@jeff and I would be interested to hear how other organizations handle event waitlists and any tips or best practices you’re willing to share. The ‘Contribution Summaries’ section within Create a List provide a way to filter for household contributions for Lifetime, HPC, MRC and First Contributions.  We often have a need to find household contributions within a time frame. There is a ‘Sum of Contributions’ for the ‘Contributions’ section, but this only looks at an individual.  For example, if one household member donated $100 and another member donated $400 last year and we wanted a list of households that donated at least $500 last year, a list of all that donated last year would be needed to feed into a Contribution Report and then  household totals created by manipulating an exported Excel file to get the answer.Not only is this extra work, but the process prevents us from using an Automation to assign Activist Codes as well as using the information for a Targeted Email.Has anyone run into this and found a simpler solution?

Hey all!  What are your thoughts on donor surveys? I myself have never received one from organizations I donate to, but I would love to get inside the mind of our org’s donors to learn more about how they ended up donating to use and what we can do to get more people like them to find out about organization.  Someone suggested adding a survey as part of the “Thank you” email we send out. Has anyone done this before? Has it helped you to gain new donors/retain current donors?  Does EA have tools that can help with this? 

We have a donor who donates substantially through a variety of methods. Sometimes that’s their donor advised fund (sometimes multiple, unique funds), their family foundation, personally (via their credit card), and other ways. I believe it is best practice to create records for each entity (ABC Foundation, DEF Family Fund, Spouse A, Spouse B) and soft credit to the donor as an individual. This is also something EveryAction suggested during Ask the Experts. Something that’s unclear to me is whether I should connect all these entities in their financial household, any advice? If I move forward with adding in their financial household would I stop soft crediting to their individual contact record? Thanks in advance! 

Is there a way to conditionally set an Activist Code from an Online Action form?  We’d like to set one only if the donor opts in for the Email Signup.

Hello!We are interested in using the e-card option on our main donation form through the holidays, but are the e-card #s trackable? I’m just trying to see if we need to make a separate online action form in order to track cards, or if we can simply add e-cards to our existing form. 

With Year End around the corner, we’re starting to look at posting new or updated contribution forms for our donate page (we have two landing pages - one-time and monthly, though both allow for recurring or one-time).A few questions related to best practices:How often do others switch up the language in your contribution forms and autoresponders?Do you just post the new form, or do you delete the other one in Online Actions too? If you don’t delete old ones, how do you keep things from getting too cluttered?If you delete the form, what happens to a monthly donation tied to that form (IE started online in March 2024 and has kept processing)?  On that last point, we use the autoresponder tied to the contribution form for our automated receipts. So when we update our monthly donor auto-thank you, we have to go through and find every contribution form that still has an active recurring commitment and update each one.
