Getting Remove any script syntax from the 'HTML Message' in Targeted Email Drag & Drop Editor

I started receiving this “Remove any <script> syntax from the 'HTML Message'” error a few months ago and can’t get any help to fix it.  I’ve tried everything -

  • I DO NOT have any browser extensions,
  • I’m not connecting via VPN,
  • I have cleared cache and data numerous times and getting the same thing
  • It happens whether I am creating a brand new email or using existing or a template

It’s obvious this is an issue for more than one person so if there is a solution why not add it to the troubleshooting FAQ instead of giving a resolution privately.  This is very frustrating and needs to be fixed.

Same issue. Can you share the fix please?

Good luck!

After first being told in another post about this issue there was a fix and the troubleshooting tips were being updated - I was then told to contact Indivisible tech support.

Needless to say the saga continues because the so called "fix" is still NOT in the troubleshooting tips AND frankly it seems Bonterra could care less.  All they will do is send DM after DM telling you EVERYTHING but how to fix this!

If by some miracle they actually tell YOU how to fix this - please come back and post it in the comments because I have ZERO faith that they will share it.

Ah @teamleaders - yes, since you’re with indivisible too it’s going to be the same process. You first need to contact indivisible support and then they will need to contact NGP VAN support if they can’t resolve the issue.

@rachel moody @bluetxchick

I have discovered the problem in my case. I’m using Google Chrome as my browser. I have a password manager called NordPass. I had the NordPass extension enable in Chrome. By viewing the email as a webpage and turning on developer tools under Settings in Chrome, I saw that the password manager was adding a java script into the code. I uninstalled the extension and am no longer getting the error. Hope it helps you!

@teamleaders - THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  My issue was a little different.  There was bee.io tag (no clue what that is),  I removed it and it is working!  Thank you again!

PS @rachel moody @bluetxchick I also had to disable my VPN, both by exiting it and by removing the VPN extension from Chrome as well as the password manager extension.
