Overview
The Prospect Research automation template helps you identify supporters who may be ready for more personal outreach and route them to the right staff member for follow-up.
It supports thoughtful stewardship by prioritizing supporters automatically. You can review and adjust everything before activating the workflow. Nothing is applied to supporter records or staff until you turn it on.
Before You Begin
Before starting, make sure:

You can access Workflow Automation. If you don’t, that’s okay, just reach out to an admin from your team.

Staff members are already set up in your system

Prospect research data is available in your account
Time estimate: 5–10 minutes
Step 1: Start with the Template
Most people start on the EveryAction Home Page.

From the left-hand menu, click
Engagement → Communication Tools → Workflow Automation -
If you don’t see Workflow Automation:

Use Search for a page in the left-hand navigation

Type Workflow Automation
-
Select Build from a template
-
Tip: Templates give you a safe starting point—you’re reviewing an existing setup, not building from scratch.
Step 2: Select the Prospect Research Template

In the template list, choose Prospect Research

Open the template to view the workflow steps
At this point, you’re only reviewing the workflow. No supporters are scored or assigned yet.
Step 3: Review Scoring and Decision Steps
This workflow uses simple rules to help prioritize follow-up.
As you review the steps, you’ll see that the workflow:

Applies a score to supporters based on available data

Uses decision steps to determine what happens next based on that score
These steps help identify supporters who may benefit from more personal outreach, while letting others continue on their current path.
Note: This automation uses existing WealthEngine data already available in your system. No additional setup is required.
Step 4: Customize Assignments and Follow-Ups (Optional)
If needed, you can adjust:

Which staff roles receive assigned supporters

What follow-up actions are created
Tip: If the default assignments and follow-ups look right, it’s okay to leave them unchanged. You can always refine this later as your stewardship strategy evolves.
Step 5: Run Check and Activate
When you’re ready:

Run the workflow check to confirm everything is complete

Activate the automation
Important: Once activated, this workflow may begin assigning supporters to staff for follow-up. If you’re not ready, you can save your work and activate it later.
