Device Type aims to allow you to identify the device associated with a given phone number, explicitly. Currently, we use a combination of Phone Type and Is Cell to try to explain whether a given number is likely a landline or cell phone. This combination can result in confusing data, as often you can currently have number with Phone Type = Home and Is Cell = Verified Cell. While perhaps understandable, when searching or exporting this number would not show up if the you wanted Phone Type = Cell.

Device Type Rollout
You will be able to set, view, search for the Device Type of a phone number on the via the following methods:
- Contact Record All Details
- New Contact Record
- Phone Number Report
- Bulk Upload
- Create a list
- Form View via the Phones Page Section
- Virtual Phone Bank via the Phones Page Section
- People API
Device Type will also be available as an export field in the Phone Type Export via MyList.
Admin users will also be able to Bulk Edit phone numbers on the Phone Number Report to assign new Phone Type and Device Type values.
