Hello!

We are interested in using the e-card option on our main donation form through the holidays, but are the e-card #s trackable? I’m just trying to see if we need to make a separate online action form in order to track cards, or if we can simply add e-cards to our existing form.

Hi @lsaluzzi

Thanks for the great question. You can add e-cards to your existing Contribution form, and yes, e-card activity is trackable. E-cards are part of the Tributes workflow, so reporting lives with Tribute data.

A few places where you can view the tributes:

  • Tribute Gifts report: filter on Card Sent and Card Sent Date to see who had a notification sent. You can also filter to a specific Contribution Form and group or display columns like Notification Method, Recipient Email, Card Template, and Contribution Form for clean counts.

  • Contributions report: filter Has Tribute = Yes, then add Card Sent and Card Sent Date. Include Contribution Form and Source Code columns if you want to break out results by the form or campaign.

You don’t have to create a new Contribution and can use your current form and:

  • Filter by Contribution Form in the reports above

You can also option to create a separate form only if you want:

  • Different default asks or content,

  • A unique URL for promotions,

  • Completely isolated analytics without filters,

  • A different receipt or thank-you experience.

Ultimately, I always recommend that you test out your end to end workflows before you deploy it.

  • On your existing form, enable Tribute and select the e-card option, then choose your templates.

  • Make one test gift with yourself as the recipient to confirm the e-card arrives and that Card Sent and Card Sent Date populate.

  • Save a report view with these useful columns: Tribute Type, Honoree Name, Notification Method, Card Sent, Card Sent Date, Card Template, Recipient Email, Contribution Form, Source Code, Amount.

Thanks!
