Does EveryAction run automatic NCOA address updates within the platform? We are getting a TON of returned mail, and I’m used to CRM’s having that capability built-in… questioning whether or not it is?

Hi @jenny. Great question and A+ for you having an eye towards data hygiene! In EveryAction, NCOA address updates are not automatic. NCOA is an optional, on-request service that we can add to your account, and when it runs, updated addresses are applied back to your records with a system note for transparency.

If you have an Enhanced or Premier Support package, NCOA processing can be included as one of your annual high-value services. If not, we can still scope it as a standalone data service support package. Your best next step is to contact your Sales rep and ask to add NCOA. If you’re not sure who that is feel free to 1:1 message me and I’ll get you to the right person.

In the meantime, it can help to pause mailing to addresses that have bounced and log the return reason on those records so you can re-mail once updates are applied. Thanks.

We had that option in Salsa - one of the few capabilities we lost migrating from one Bonterra product to another.

Instead we actually get an NCOA report from our mail house as part of any mailing we do. While not automated, the process of a quarterly update through our mail house and manually updating those records in EA has been a cheaper option for us.

Thanks, Jeff - that’s helpful!

When we switched to EA, we were lead to believe NCOA updates would be included in the price.  Not only was that not the case, we were told that we would be charged for our entire database, not just those that had a mailing address.  We follow the same update process that Jeff mentioned.

Thanks @scurtiskellogg  -- I was also under the impression that NCOA was built-in, but we moved to EveryAction from a non-Bonterra platform about 4 years ago, so I could be mis-remembering.

@Liz Ragland any chance NCOA will be a feature in a future version of EA??

Just FYI (tagging in @torvic vardamis to give a more complete answer) wanted to let you know that we have surfaced this question/comment internally.
