WealthEngine is a powerful platform for donor prospecting that aggregates data from dozens of publicly available sources (such as real estate holdings, professional affiliations, income information, and records of other charitable gifts) to determine a donor's capacity to give. This data can help you determine the appropriate ask amount for major gift prospects or when planning your mid-level giving program outreach.
The add-on WealthEngine integration helps you link your database to your WealthEngine account and allows you to:
-
apply WealthEngine fields to individual contact records or groups of contact records manually or by using automations, batch matching, or file uploads (using Data Services)
-
search on all WealthEngine fields in Create a List
-
view a history of the WealthEngine data on your individual contact records
-
add WealthEngine columns to selected reports, exports, and call time sheets
The list of fields that can be imported include:
-

-
P2G Score
-
Gift Capacity
-

-

-

-

Enabling the WealthEngine integration
To get started using the WealthEngine integration, you will need to first signup for a WealthEngine account and request an API key from them. (Look in their Developer documentation for more help with this.)
Send this key to Client Services using a one-time secret link so we can enable the integration for you.
To generate the secret link:
- Follow https://ots.actionkit.com/
- Enter the token in the text box
- Select Create the secret!
- Copy the URL
- Email Client Services
Once the integration is enabled, you can begin adding WealthEngine data to your contact records.
Adding data to individual records
If your account has permission to request WealthEngine data (some accounts may only have viewing privileges), you can add the data to individual records by opening the WealthEngine section of the contact’s All Details view or from the Moves Management or Planned Giving pages. To add or update the data in these sections, select Get WealthEngine Data.
Once the data has been added, you will see a brief history of the data that has been added with a link to View the larger WealthEngine record.
Once new WealthEngine data is added, the link is disabled on contact details for the rest of that day to prevent you from paying double for the same information. Automation and batch entries can still make the call for the contact. WealthEngine data is updated monthly, so you do not need to apply the data more frequently than that.
If you’re on the contact record view, you can add data directly from the WealthEngine drawer located on the Planning & Insights column.

Adding data to multiple contact records
Use Create a List to search for contacts where you want to add WealthEngine data. At the top of the resulting My List, select WealthEngine to import the data for all the contacts in your list.
The WealthEngine batch process can only be run on 5000 contacts at a time. If your list is larger than 5000 contacts, you will have to split your list and import the data for each list.
Once you select WealthEngine, you will see a warning screen asking you to confirm your action. You can View Processing Page to check the status of your data request and see a record of all previous WealthEngine requests. You can later check on the status from Main Menu > WealthEngine Batches.
Please note: If your batched imports failed, please submit a support ticket or contact our Support team (help@everyaction.com).
Using Automations to add data to contact records
You can save time by setting up an Automation that updates WealthEngine data on a nightly basis to identify potential prospects and update your records with the WealthEngine data before you assign staff for follow-ups.
You can use the Prospect Research template and customize it to meet your needs or select one of our other Major Gifts templates to help you set up this automation.

Using WealthEngine data for Searching
Once you’ve applied WealthEngine data to your contact records, you will be able to use that data for searching and creating reports.
In Create a List, you can use the WealthEngine section to search on all of the fields in the WealthEngine dataset.
Adding WealthEngine data to reports and exports
You can add columns for your WealthEngine data to many of your reports in Report Manager, including:
-
Planned Giving
-
Moves Management
-

-
Contribution Aggregate
-
Count of Contacts
You can also add WealthEngine data to your Call Sheets in the PDF Report Builder.
If you want to export the WealthEngine data on your contact records, you can customize your Standard Text export. Search for WealthEngine in the Fields to Export section and you will be able to choose which fields you want to include from the dropdown, including:
-
Cash on Hand
-
Est. Annual Donations
-
Gift Capacity Range
-

Using WealthEngine with DonorTrends
While WealthEngine does provide some analytics, such as their P2G (Propensity to Give) score, the data is not specific to your organization or circumstance.
DonorTrends, on the other hand, is an analytics package that uses your own internal data to help you predict who is likely to give based on your donor’s existing relationship with your organization.
You can use both of these analytics tools in tandem to ensure that you are targeting the right donors for the right amount.
Begin by using DonorTrends scores to help you identify the contacts who are likely to upgrade to major donors or mid-level donors or who are likely to make a planned giving information request. You can then add your WealthEngine data to your prospects and continue your cultivation efforts.
