Overview

The Reengagement automation template helps you thoughtfully reconnect with supporters who haven’t engaged recently. It sends a short, respectful series of emails designed to check in without overwhelming people.

You can review all messages and timing before activating the workflow. No emails are sent until you turn it on.

Before You Begin

Before starting, make sure:

  • You can access Workflow Automation

  • You’re comfortable reviewing email content and timing

  • You understand this workflow is for inactive supporters, not new sign-ups

Time estimate: 5–10 minutes

Step 1: Start with the Template

Most people start on the EveryAction Home Page.

  1. From the left-hand menu, click
Engagement → Communication Tools → Workflow Automation

  2. If you don’t see Workflow Automation:

    • Use Search for a page in the left-hand navigation

    • Type Workflow Automation

    • Select Build from a template

Tip: Templates are designed to be safe starting points—you can adjust or leave defaults as needed.

Step 2: Select the Reengagement Template

  1. In the template list, choose Reengagement

  2. Open the template to view the workflow steps

At this stage, you’re only reviewing the setup. No supporters are contacted yet.

Step 3: Review the Message Sequence

This workflow includes a short sequence designed to be respectful of supporters’ attention.

As you review the steps, you’ll see that the workflow:

  • Sends a reengagement email

  • Waits between messages

  • Adjusts what happens next based on engagement (for example, whether someone opens or clicks)

This helps prevent over-messaging and stops outreach when someone re-engages.

Step 4: Customize Messaging (Optional)

You can edit the reengagement emails to match your organization’s voice and tone.

Common updates include:

  • Softening language to sound more invitational

  • Adjusting subject lines

  • Confirming sender and reply-to details

Tip: If the default messages feel right, it’s okay to leave them as-is and move on.

Step 5: Run Check and Activate

When you’re ready:

  1. Run the workflow check to confirm everything is complete

  2. Activate the automation

Important: Once activated, emails will be sent only to supporters who meet the inactivity criteria. If you’re not ready yet, you can save your work and activate later.
