How do I add tribute gifts to online forms?

Tribute gifts allow donors to make contributions in honor or memory of someone special, adding emotional significance to their donation. 

 

Step 1: Access the Tribute Gifts section 

 

  1. Create or edit a contribution form in Online Actions 
  2. On the Build Page step, scroll to the "Tribute Gifts and Memberships" section 
  3. If you don't see this section, click "Add a Section" and select "Tribute Gifts and Memberships" 
  4. The section will now appear in your form editor 

 

Step 2: Configure tribute gift options 

 

  1. Enter a heading for the section (e.g., "Tribute Gifts") 
  2. Add descriptive text explaining tribute gifts to donors 
  3. Check the box labeled "Enable Tribute Gifts" 
  4. This activates the tribute gift functionality on your form 

 

Step 3: Set up tribute types 

 

  1. Choose which tribute types to offer: 

    In Honor Of - For celebrating achievements, birthdays, etc. 

    In Memory Of - For memorializing someone who has passed away 

  2. You can offer both types or just one 
  3. For each type, enter the label that will appear on the form 
  4. Consider customizing labels to match your organization's tone and terminology 

 

Step 4: Configure notification options 

 

  1. Decide whether to allow donors to send notifications about tribute gifts 
  2. If enabled, donors can provide contact information for the honoree or their family 
  3. Set up notification fields: 

    Recipient name 

    Email address 

    Physical address (if sending mail notifications) 

  4. Choose whether these notification fields are required or optional 

 

Step 5: Test and publish your form 

 

  1. Preview your form to see how the tribute gift section appears 
  2. Test the tribute gift workflow by making a test donation 
  3. Verify that all tribute information is captured correctly 
  4. Check that notification options work as expected 
  5. Publish your form when ready
