Using the Fundraising Optimization Guide

The Fundraising Optimization Guide can help you track how well you are converting donors who request planned giving informtion. If you also have the DonorTrends add-on package, you’ll be able to use their predictive analytics to discover which of your donors you should be contacting to talk about planned giving.

Using Activist Codes for searching

If you’ve actively been recording requests using Activist Codes for more information on planned giving from your contacts, you’ll have a head start on finding the prospects who might be ready to make a commitment.

On individual contact records, you’ll be able to see who is interested by the Activist Codes that were applied when you Bulk Uploaded their responses to your Direct Response efforts or when you manually applied the code after hearing from them another way.

If you apply an activist code every time someone requests information about planned giving, you’ll be able to find the contacts who have expressed interest multiple times using the Count filter in the Activist Codes section of Create a List.

Using Planned Giving details to search

From the Planned Giving section of Create a List, you can find contacts using any of the details available on their Planned Giving Plans.

You can also use the Initial Information Request fields to retarget any prospects or donors who came to you as part of particular campaigns or efforts.

Reporting on planned giving

There are several reports that can help you monitor the health of your planned giving program and help you monitor how donor outreach is going.

 

The Planned Giving Report will give you insight into the health of your planned giving program. You’ll get an overview of how many contacts have planned gifts, the revenue raised and the conversion rates of how many prospects who have requested information are actually committing to a planned gift.

You’ll also get a quick summary of all of your planned giving plans and be able to filter the report and add columns to create exportable reports you can use to share with others.

 

There are also some specialized reports that cover particular kinds of gifts, including:

  • Bequest Report: Displays bequest details, beneficiaries, intended distributions, pledges, and contributions.

  • Annuities Report: Displays annuity details, beneficiaries, intended distributions, and contributions.

  • Trusts Report: Displays trust details, beneficiaries, intended distributions, and contributions.

  • Pooled Income Funds Report: Displays Pooled Income Funds, beneficiaries, intended distributions, and contributions.
