Redirects allow you to send supporters to a specific page after they submit your form, creating a seamless journey to your website or another Online Actions form.
Step 1: Access your form settings
- Create a new form or edit an existing form in Online Actions
- Progress through the Basics and Build Page steps
- Continue to the Confirmation step
- This is where you'll configure what happens after form submission
Step 2: Enable redirect functionality
- In the Confirmation step, locate the "Redirect URL" field
- By default, forms display a confirmation message without redirecting
- To enable redirection, you'll need to enter a valid URL
- Ensure the "Show confirmation page before redirect" option is set according to your preference
Step 3: Enter your redirect URL
- In the "Redirect URL" field, enter the full URL where you want to send supporters
- The URL must include "https://" or "http://"
- Examples of redirect destinations:
- Your organization's website
- A thank you page with additional information
- Another Online Actions form (for multi-step processes)
- A donation page (after petition signing)
Step 4: Configure redirect timing
- If you selected "Show confirmation page before redirect":
- Set the number of seconds to display the confirmation before redirecting
- A typical setting is 3-5 seconds, giving supporters time to see the confirmation
If you deselected this option:
- The redirect will happen immediately after form submission
- Supporters won't see the confirmation page
Step 5: Test your redirect
- Save and publish your form
- Submit a test entry to your form
- Verify that the redirect works as expected
- Check that the timing feels appropriate
- Adjust if needed and republish
