Follow these steps to activate Bonterra Que Coaching, unlock personalized guidance, and transform strategic insights into impactful fundraising moves.
Step 1: Open Bonterra Que
- Log in to your EveryAction account.
- Navigate to the Que icon on your dashboard.
- Click the icon to open the Bonterra Que chat interface.
- You’ll see a welcome message and a set of recommended actions based on your organization’s fundraising history.
- Example prompt: “How can I improve donor retention this quarter?”
Step 2: Ask a strategic question
Que will analyze your fundraising performance — including revenue trends, cohort benchmarks, and retention rates — and suggest 1–3 recommended actions aligned to your goals.
Each recommendation includes:
- A prioritized insight (e.g., "Your new donor retention rate dropped 12% vs last year")
- Suggested strategies to address it
- Next-step prompts, such as creating a segment or drafting an email
| Scenario | How Que helps | Example prompts |
|---|---|---|
| Boosting recurring giving | Analyzes donor giving patterns and retention rates, then suggests strategies to strengthen monthly giving before key events. | “How can I boost monthly giving before Giving Tuesday” |
| Targeting the right segments | Reviews campaign history, revenue trends, and cohort benchmarks to identify high-potential donor segments. | “What segments should I target for my spring campaign?” |
| Reducing donor loss | Surfaces where retention is dropping (e.g., new donors vs. repeat donors), explains the impact, and suggests re-engagement tactics. | “Where am I losing donors and how can I get them back?” |
Step 3: Review Que’s recommendations
Each Coaching insight comes with a plain-language explanation and supporting data, including:
- Fundraising trend (compared to prior periods and cohort benchmarks)
- Impact quadrant (e.g., At Risk, Emerging, Leading)
- Suggested strategies to improve performance
Click "Show me more" to:
- View cohort comparison
- Explore additional strategies
You can also ask follow-up questions like:
- "Why do you think retention dropped?"
- "What campaign should I run to improve upgrades?"
Step 4: Take action in Que
Once you’ve selected a recommendation to move forward with, Que will walk you through:
- Building a donor segment (via Create-a-List)
You can review, edit, and finalize each asset directly in Que or open the full record in EveryAction.
All outputs are saved in their respective modules:
- Segments → Create-a-List
Step 5: Customize or ask for help
Que is transparent by design. You can always ask:
- “What data is this based on?”
- “What if I want to focus on major donors instead?”
Use natural language to revise the recommendation, adjust a segment, or regenerate content. If you need support from a teammate, everything is saved to your workspace.
