Bonterra News July 2026 | Deed Engage
Welcome to the July edition of Bonterra News!
Summer is in full swing, and so is our work here at Bonterra. This month, we're sharing a handful of product updates designed to reduce the day-to-day friction in your programs - from a live integration milestone to a refreshed admin experience - plus a heads up that we'll be in Boston this September for ACCP.
We're also thinking about the communities affected by the Canadian wildfires, and we've included resources below to help you mobilize quickly if your program is responding.
As always, there's plenty to dig into. Enjoy the read!
Warmly,
Megan Dodds

🚨 Responding to the Canadian Wildfires
Wildfires continue to spread across Canada, forcing mass evacuations and overwhelming local emergency infrastructure. Bonterra has identified verified nonprofit partners currently delivering emergency response including evacuation support, food and shelter, and long-term community recovery.
If your program is mobilizing a disaster response campaign, your Bonterra team is ready to help. In the meantime, you can direct employee giving and grants to trusted organizations responding right now.

WHAT’S NEW
🙌 Deed + CyberGrants data integration live
🎯 Who it's for: Admins who use CyberGrants for grant management and Deed for employee engagement
- One of the first releases for the Deed + CyberGrants integration is LIVE: connecting dashboards and reports in the Deed Admin Portal directly with CyberGrants data to streamline how corporate giving data flows between the two platforms.
- Clients can now click the Grants Tab in the Deed Admin Portal and see high level grant application data in a number of visualizations, as well as in a line item table.
✨ Why This Matters
This release is a meaningful step toward a unified experience for customers who use both products: less manual work, less switching between platforms, and a more cohesive view of their giving and volunteering programs.
📈 Custom locations for events
🎯 Who it's for: Deed organizers creating in-person events.
- Organizers can now add a custom Location Title to in-person events — a venue name, building, or any label that gives attendees better context before they see the full address.
- Location Title displays next to the city on event cards and above the full address on the event detail page.
- Events without a location title are unaffected and display exactly as before.
✨ Why This Matters
For employees browsing events, a street address alone doesn't always tell the full story. Knowing it's at a specific community center, campus building, or partner site helps them decide whether to sign up. This small addition makes event discovery meaningfully clearer.
📈 Grants dashboards have moved to the Grants tab
🎯 Who it's for: Deed admins using SurveyMonkey Apply or CyberGrants.
- Grants dashboard visualizations have moved from the Dashboards tab to the Grants tab in the Admin Portal.
- This applies to clients on both SurveyMonkey Apply and CyberGrants as their grantmaking platforms.
✨ Why This Matters
Consolidating grants data under a single tab reduces the navigation overhead for admins who regularly pull reporting — everything grants-related is now where you'd expect it to be.
👀 A few small updates worth knowing about
🎯 Who it's for: Deed admins, nonprofit organizers, and employees.
- Impact Indicators for nonprofit organizers: Nonprofits creating Deeds can now select Impact Indicators directly in the Deed form — including global indicators and custom indicators shared by partner companies.
- Custom messages in auto-approval/rejection notifications for off-platform match requests: Admins can now include a custom message in automatic off-platform match request notifications — allowing for clearer explanations, or surfacing as a "Note from your company" on approvals.
- Selected event image now surfaces at the top of the list: The organizer's selected image on nonprofit-submitted events now always loads at the top of the image list, rather than sitting behind a "Show more" button.
- Organizer navigation refresh: The Organizer interface has a cleaner, more consistent look with a new Company dropdown, tighter spacing, pinned Settings, and tooltips on collapsed sidebar icons.
✨ Why This Matters
These refinements reduce friction across the admin, organizer, and employee experience. Clearer automated communications and fewer small workflow interruptions make a big difference.
RECENT EVENTS
🌟A look back: Points of Light conference
The Bonterra team headed to Washington, D.C. last month for the Points of Light Conference and it was a great week. Kenrick Fraser represented Bonterra across exhibit hall conversations and a co-hosted happy hour with Realized Worth, while Kimberly O'Donnell and Ben Miller led a session that drew 125+ attendees.
The energy in the room was a good reminder of how committed this community is to doing the work well.
