"How do we move faster without sacrificing trust, transparency, and human judgment?"

Join Bonterra’s flagship virtual conference to explore what responsible, human-led AI looks like in practice and how to apply it with confidence.

Advanced Support Consultant Spotlight:
Reactivating Lapsed Donors with Focus
by Peter R., Advanced Support Consultant

Lapsed donors are often treated as one large segment — but a donor who gave 11 months ago is very different from someone who hasn’t given in three years. The most successful reactivation work I’ve seen starts with clear segmentation and simple execution.

Here are a few approaches that consistently perform well:

  • Define your lapse tiers.
Create saved searches based on last contribution date (e.g., 9–15 months, 16–36 months, 3+ years). Each group should receive different messaging and cadence.

  • Prioritize by likelihood.
Use DonorTrends or Bonterra Que to identify which previously engaged donors are most likely to return. Focus effort where probability is strongest.

  • Check engagement before asking.
Supporters who have opened or clicked recently—but haven’t given—often respond well to a short, direct reactivation message.

  • Keep the ask simple.
Reference their past support, include one clear call-to-action, and align suggested amounts with their previous gift. Enable recurring upsell to capture monthly conversions.

    Protect the experience.
Use real-time suppression to remove anyone who donates once the campaign begins and apply frequency caps to avoid fatigue.

Lapsed donor reactivation doesn’t require complex automation—just clean segmentation, thoughtful suppression, and a focused message.

If you’d like help building a reactivation framework in EveryAction, our Advanced Support Consulting team can configure the searches, safeguards, and reporting with you in a single working session.

You have full access, with no monthly limits and no need to focus on managing your credits. You’ll be able to keep using Que across your workflows without restriction.

Supercharge Donor Relationships With Que

With the new Donor Stewardship skill, Que provides a concise, two-sentence summary of a donor’s current status and clear recommendations for next steps — based on your data and Bonterra’s predictive AI models.

By highlighting timely insights and suggested actions, this skill helps teams prioritize the right outreach at the right moment, strengthening donor relationships and increasing retention and lifetime giving.

New Homepage Customization Available

As a part of our updated and enhanced homepage, we’ve added the ability for multi-committee users to customize their EveryAction homepage - and keep those customizations consistent across all of their committees.

Learn more about the enhanced homepage experience here.

Updated Process for Submitting Comments to Regulations.gov

In August 2025, the U.S. General Services Administration disabled the API that enabled direct comment submission to Regulations.gov. To ensure supporters can still take action, we’ve introduced a seamless workaround that guides them to manually submit their comments after completing an Advocacy form.

No additional setup is required—everything works the same, with updated confirmation page and email language to walk supporters through the final step.

Learn more about this process update here.

New "Favorites" for Contact Details

We've created a new "Favorites" section at the top of each Contact Details page, making it easier for you to customize and reorder your favorite sections and create a personalized, ideal view.

Phones Data Model Update

We've made some changes to our Phones Data Model across web, mobile, forms, reports, call sheets, and imports - so your phone data behaves more consistently wherever you interact with it.

Some highlights from this change include the standardization of the "phone type" label and updates to call sheets to match some updated naming conventions for both clarity and consistency.
