The multi-step Advocacy form guides supporters through a sequential process of contacting decision-makers.

  1. Access your published form

    1. Visit the public URL of your Advocacy form

    2. Note the overall layout and flow from a supporter's perspective

  2. Review the Details step (step 2)

    1. This first screen prompts supporters for their contact information

    2. It includes any additional fields you enabled during form creation

    3. Information provided here will be saved to the supporter's contact record

  3. Examine the Messages step (step 3)

    1. After entering contact details, supporters see this screen

    2. The system uses the address from Step 1 to determine which targets to display

    3. The message shown includes merge fields from the Advocacy Signature

    4. Supporters can edit the message body if you've enabled this option

  4. Understand the Confirmation process

    1. If targets require additional information not collected in Step 2 (like phone number or prefix), supporters will be prompted after Step 3

    2. Note that this additional information is not saved to the supporter's contact record

    3. After providing all required information, supporters are directed to the Thank You page

  5. Review the Thank You page

    1. This page confirms successful submission

    2. It typically displays the names of targets contacted using the {{AdvocacyTargetFullName}} merge field

    3. If a supporter has no matching targets (e.g., a DC resident for a US Senate campaign), an alternate message appears
