Understanding Contact Follow Notifications

Overview 

The Follow feature helps you stay informed about important updates to specific contacts—such as new contributions, changes to personal information, or relationship updates. This is especially useful when tracking major donors, high-value supporters, or VIP contacts. 

Once you follow a contact, you can: 

• Receive daily email notifications about changes 

• Generate a Changes to Contacts Report 

• Personalize which updates matter most to you 

Each user can follow up to 1,000 contacts, and multiple users can follow the same contact. Because this limit cannot be increased, it’s best to follow only the contacts you truly need to monitor. 

How this feature works 

The Follow feature has three main parts: 

1. Following contacts you want to track 

2. Customizing notifications for those contacts 

3. Reviewing changes using a report, if needed 

Each step builds on the previous one, so you’ll want to start by following contacts before adjusting notification settings.
