VAN Relay Overview

VAN Relay automatically shares supported voter file information with your EveryAction records when a match is found. This helps keep contact records accurate without manual data entry or notifications.

Matching happens continuously in the background using identifying information like name, date of birth, and address. When records meet match criteria, supported voter data is added without overwriting manually entered contact details.

VAN Relay is especially useful when adding new records, uploading data in bulk, or keeping records up to date during voter file updates.

Feature Details

VAN Relay shares specific voter file fields such as registration status and vote history while intentionally excluding contact information like addresses, phone numbers, and emails. If a record was manually linked, Relay may override that link if a better match is found.

Relay also supports sharing Activist Codes and Survey Questions, but only when those items exist in both databases and were applied within the last two years.

Feature Navigation

VAN Relay runs automatically and does not require users to turn it on or manage it from the interface. You will see its results reflected directly on contact records and in list-building filters.

Feature Availability

VAN Relay applies to My Campaign, My Members, My Workers, and EveryAction databases that connect to voter file data.
