Overview
Segmentation allows you to divide your audience into strategic groups for more targeted messaging and tracking.
Step 1: Add your first segment

In the Segments step, click "+ Add Segment"

Select a saved search or list for this segment

Give the segment a specific name (helpful for reporting purposes)

Click "Save" to create the segment
Step 2: Add sub-segments or packages

After saving a segment, you can create sub-divisions within it:

For Telemarketing plans: Add Sub-Segments

For Direct Mail plans: Add Packages

Click "+ Add Sub-Segment" or "+ Add Package" as appropriate

For Telemarketing sub-segments, you can assign:

For Direct Mail packages, define your targeting criteria and package details
Step 3: Special considerations for different plan types

For Direct Mail - Acquisition plans:

Select external lists to segment

Build segments manually or import from an external spreadsheet

For Direct Mail - Housefile plans:

Use saved searches to further segment your audience

Add packages within each segment

Step 4: Confirm and continue

Check the checkbox on the right to confirm each sub-segment or package

Continue adding additional segments using "+ Add Segment" as needed

Add more sub-segments or packages within each segment as appropriate
Step 5: Manage audience distribution

Use "Update Counts" to calculate how contacts are distributed across segments

Choose how to divide your audience:

"Proportionally Divided": Automatically split across segments

"Input Quantities": Manually specify counts for each segment

Review the "Remaining Audience" segment (automatically generated)
-
Add a name and source code if you want to include this catch-all segment
