Overview

The Cultivate tab is the default display when you open the Major Giving Portfolio and provides an overview of your major giving program, helping you manage donor relationships effectively.

Step 1: Access the Cultivate tab

  1. Open the Major Giving Portfolio by searching for it in the Sidebar or selecting "Manage Portfolio" from the Major Gifts card in Fundraising Management

  1. The Cultivate tab will appear by default

Step 2: Review your portfolio summary

  1. View your planned Moves (follow-ups) summary

  1. Check your Portfolio Value, which shows the sum of all direct contributions made by contacts in your open action plans

  1. To see results for other staff members, select a different Portfolio Owner using the dropdown filter

Step 3: View and manage Noteworthy donors

  1. Scroll to the Noteworthy section to see donor cards requiring attention

  1. Each card displays:

    1. Basic contact details

    2. A message explaining why the contact needs review

    3. A summary of the donor's giving history

  2. The screen shows 6 cards at once

  3. Use the Action menu (three dots) on each card to respond to notifications

Step 4: Act on donor cards

  1. Click the Action menu (three dots) on a donor card

  1. Choose from options like creating/editing action plans or scheduling follow-ups

  1. Select "Dismiss for 7 days" to remove the card and load a new one

  1. Note that dismissed cards may reappear after 7 days if the qualifying reason still exists

The major giving portfolio page is useful, but it does not read financial households accurately. It requires a lot of time figuring out if there’s a follow-up already scheduled in the household. And it says someone is lapsed even if the other person in their household has donated. Very unhelpful

Hi @apetry,

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We understand how frustrating it can be when the Major Giving Portfolio doesn't accurately reflect financial household activity, especially when it results in extra time spent checking for follow-ups or incorrectly identifying someone as lapsed.

We really appreciate you calling out these specific scenarios. Feedback like this helps us better understand how these workflows impact users in practice. We've shared your comments with our product team for review as we continue working to improve the experience.

Thank you again for helping us make Bonterra Central better.
