How do I build target lists using DonorTrends?

Overview

You can create targeted donor segments by building custom lists that use DonorTrends scoring as criteria. This approach allows you to focus your fundraising efforts on the most promising prospects for specific campaign types. 

Step 1: Create a new list 

1. Go to "Create a List" in your Bonterra CRM 

2. Open the DonorTrends section of the list criteria options 

Step 2: Choose your scoring format 

1. Decide whether you want to use raw scores, tiers, or clusters as your filter 

2. Each format provides different ways to segment your audience: 

   1. Raw scores: Precise numerical rankings 

   2. Tiers: Broad categories like "High," "Medium," or "Low" potential 

   3. Clusters: Groups with similar characteristics 

Step 3: Select your model and criteria 

1. Choose which DonorTrends model(s) you want to use (Retention, Upgrade, etc.) 

2. Enter the specific criteria for your selected model(s) 

3. Add any additional filtering criteria as needed for your campaign 

Step 4: Save and use your list 

1. Name your list in a way that describes the segment and DonorTrends criteria 

2. Save the list 

3. Use this list for your targeted fundraising campaigns across all channels
