How do I use FastAction for one-click contributions?

FastAction lets donors complete a contribution with a single click from your email. Follow the steps below to set this up.

Note: FastAction one-click links require that the donor’s FastAction account includes all required contact information and tokenized credit card details. If any information is missing, the donor will be redirected to your Online Actions form to complete their gift.

Step 1: Enable FastAction Auto Processing on your contribution form

Log in to your FastAction account and navigate to the contribution form you plan to link in your email. Confirm that FastAction Auto Processing is enabled on the form.

Step 2: Set up your SmartLink with one-click contributions

When adding your contribution form link to your email using the SmartLinks wizard, enable the FastAction one-click contributions option. Include the {{Amount}} variable in each link to specify the donation amount.

Example link text: “Give $20 now!”

Add a disclaimer reminding donors that clicking the link will immediately process their contribution.

Step 3: Communicate expectations to donors

In your email, remind donors that: - They need to be logged into their FastAction account before clicking the link - The link is designed for the original email recipient only — if the link is forwarded, clicking it a second time will not pre-fill the original recipient’s information (unless the person clicking is logged into their own FastAction account)

Step 4: Test your setup before launching

Send a test email to yourself or a colleague and click the one-click links to confirm that the correct amounts appear, all required information populates correctly, and the form behaves as expected for logged-in users.

Step 5: Send your email

Once tested, send your fundraising email with the one-click contribution links.
