Does EveryAction run automatic NCOA address updates within the platform? We are getting a TON of returned mail, and I’m used to CRM’s having that capability built-in… questioning whether or not it is?
I am bulk uploading contacts from a webinar that we co-hosted. I cannot seem to bulk apply the event (which is set up in EA as a webinar). How can I bulk apply the webinar event to this group of people? The little info that is available in the help module seems to indicate that only ticketed events can be bulk applied. I hope this is not accurate.
It would be nice or maybe I don’t know how --- to be able to compare the data from two merge accounts and decide what information should be merged. I find that EA duplicates addresses and emails.
The basic need is to use bulk upload to add dozens of attributions for one contribution. It seems like it’s probably possible but the article I found on attributions leaves quite a bit to speculation and I’m hoping to avoid a lengthy trial and error process and having someone manually enter 80+ attributions. If you’ve done this and have a sample spreadsheet or some guidance, I’d love to hear from you! Background: We’re a small organization in Alaska, with one really new development person and maximum of one year of experience in EA for the most senior of us. Alaska is notorious for its Permanent Fund Dividend — Alaska residents receive dividend checks every October from a fund seeded by oil money — and several years ago the Pick.Click.Give. program was created, allowing folks to pledge and donate money from their dividend to Alaska nonprofits. Organizations receive the donations as one single check, along with a spreadsheet of the individual donors. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
I’m curious about what the Suppression flag for “Do Not Email” on the Contact Record is intended for. Is it to sync requests to not get email from an external DM/TM database, maybe? In working for a client investigating unsubscribes, we learned that the Do Not Email field, when checked, triggers a process to change the Email to Unsubscribed. We learned that when working to direct subscribers who wanted to re-subscribe to a Confirmed Opt-In form where they opted back in. Unfortunately, they were again unsubscribed by the automatic process. Since the Do Not Email flag seems to override the user choice to re-subscribe, I’m interested in learning about the history of that field, what it’s for, and why a Confirmed Opt-In doesn’t automatically remove the flag. Seems like a user proactively re-subscribing should also automatically remove this flag. Give me all of your lore and institutional knowledge!
We work with a nonprofit that manages a lot of grants, and they told us about a need they have for a new User Role. They described it a “like CRM View Only, but for Grants.” Basically, they want some of their staff to be able to view Grant Plans and Organization Contacts and Org Contributions for the grants, but not to view Person Contacts or Person Contributions. This is to protect the privacy of their major donor individuals. We submitted Product Feedback using the EA menu/form, but wanted to ask here if anyone else has had a need for this type of role. This client is on app.everyaction.com, which means their users are defined by User Roles, not by User Profiles (which would give more granular control over permissions). We know the goal for User Roles is to have a manageable number of User Roles that cover common nonprofit jobs. Is grants manager one that others have a need for, specifically excluding the ability to view persons and person contributions? Note: migrating to a standalo
I have always wanted EveryAction to add a relationship type called“it’s complicated”(I mean, relationships ARE complicated!)Just for fun, what are your silly suggestions?
We are trying to connect our EveryAction to our website to make getting information more streamlined. Unfortunately, we are unable to get our API Key Approved because the two people listed to request approval from are not part of our staff. Are we able to add our Executive Director to this list of people so she can approve the API integration key?
I’ve read the Zoom integration article and watched a couple of recorded videos. But they don’t address whether we can send a confirmation email from EveryAction for Zoom events (that would include the URL to join the Zoom meeting/webinar)? It appears that if we link Zoom events to an EveryAction event, we should turn off autoresponders on the Online Actions event signup form and only do confirmations via Zoom?
I'd like to create a pledge form in Online Actions but don't see any templates to start from. Does anyone have a hack for doing this within the system? I'd prefer to collect them through an EA form than through a Google form, for example. It seems there has to be a way, since we can manually enter pledges in on the back end. Thanks!
How do you add a shift after you have created an event?
We are trying to have an API key approved to integrate EveryAction with our website. Unfortunately, there are only two administrators that we are able to select and submit a request to and they are not a part of our staff. We need to add our executive director, Kelly Tipler to this list of people so she is able to approve the request. Is this possible?
Our development team has been having trouble exporting a householded mailing list to mail merge in InDesign. We can get the householded list with the mail merge button, but it won’t export all the fields we need — it wants to use the built-in mail merge feature, it seems — and we can export all the fields we want with a standard export, but then the contacts aren’t householded. It may be the path of least resistance is switching to using .docx templates instead of our nicely designed InDesign template, but I’m wondering if folks have figured out the right recipe for exporting the list we need?
I used the settlement date to reconcile with finance for EFT since they can take a few days to a week to deposit to the bank. Recently (as of 10/3), I have not seen the settlement date on EFT donations made through the online form. We use Paragon Payment as our Payment Gateway.

How are unsubscribe link options applied to email addresses? If a contact unsubscribes from one type of email, how does EA deal with the email address for other targeted email content types? On contact records, the email simply shows “Unsubscribed” with no information about the specific email types. Where do we specify the content of the targeted email?
When I go to assign a staff member to a contact for contact management, I am not seeing all of the staff members listed in the drop down menu. Even though these staff members have been added to the “assigned to” dropdown field through the Custom Fields and I can see their names showing up there, I cannot see them when I go into a contact and try to assign them.
My report to find profiles (ID's) with multiple Recurring Commitments doesn't seem to be working anymore and I can't seem to find the right criteria to recreate it. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks!
Happy Monday y’all! Thanks to everyone who joined our recent Fundraising Coaching Event with Robin Cabral — or caught the replay! (If you missed it, you can watch the recording here: Fundraising Metrics that Matter for Sustainable Growth) Robin reminded us that even a 5% increase in your donor recapture rate can add thousands in revenue without finding a single new donor. So what’s one thing you’re trying (or planning to try) to re-engage lapsed donors before year-end?
We use EA’s recurring gift tool for donors who want to set up a payment monthly, quarterly, or annually. Our practice is to begin soliciting donors 11 months after their last gift, so that they’re giving around the same gift date or a little earlier each year. That’s led us to an odd scenario where we sometimes begin solicitation with a donor, not realizing that they have an annual scheduled gift set to process the month after. While we can export the source code for their last gift (i.e. “recurring gift club”), that alone doesn’t always alert us to a pending gift for various reasons. All this to say: what is an easy way to export an indicator of whether a gift is pending from an account? It seems EA has that information, since the “financial” tab shows the green button to mark it pending. How can we pull that for cross reference without creating a bunch of extra work each month?
I saw this start in another thread, but wanted to start this as a separate convo:How are others using Activist Codes and Tags? What’s your criteria for when to use one vs the other - or both. We’ve been using the two in tandem quite a bit with the hierarchy of tags providing more content. IE Activist Code: Attended Conference X and tag: Conference X - speaker, Conference X - panelist, Conference X - coordinator. though I’m aware we could get similar functionality under events, so “conference” is a bad example!
Is anyone else having trouble exporting this report? Ours are hanging in the in-progress state until nightly clear-out.
I would like to run a report on several Tags at the same time. Is there a way to export a list of All tags on a record?
Hey! When you are using the EA automation tool, does everyone get the same message or do you have decision trees that branch out to personalize the sends?
