How do I create a new Cost Center?

Overview

Cost Centers help you track financial data by program, department, or project, giving you more granular insights into your organization's activities. 

 

Step 1: Access the Cost Centers list 

  1. Click on the Sidebar search feature 

  1. Type Cost Center in the search box 

  1. Select it from the search results 

  1. If you don't see this option, contact Support to enable this feature 

Step 2: Add a new Cost Center 

  1. On the Cost Centers list page, click Add New Cost Center 

  1. Enter a name for the cost center (limited to 30 characters) 

  1. Choose a name that clearly identifies the program, department, or project 

  1. Add a description that explains the purpose of this cost center 

  1. By default, the cost center will be set to Active status 

Step 3: Save your new Cost Center 

  1. Review the information you've entered 

  1. Click Save to create the cost center 

  1. Your new Cost Center will now appear in the list and can be applied to source codes
