Overview

After a contribution has been posted to the General Ledger, you cannot directly change its amount, source code, or payment method. Instead, you must use the Data Adjustment feature to maintain accurate accounting records.

Step 1: Access the contribution requiring adjustment

  1. Navigate to the contribution you need to modify

  1. Verify that the contribution shows as posted to the General Ledger

Step 2: Initiate a data adjustment

  1. On the contribution record, locate the Data Adjustment option next to the date the contribution was posted

  1. Click Data Adjustment to open the adjustment interface

Step 3: Make the necessary adjustments

  1. In the pop-up screen, you can:

  1. Add or delete Source Codes

  1. Change the attributed General Ledger Fund

  1. Change the attributed Cost Center

  1. Make your desired changes

Step 4: Save the adjustment

  1. Review your changes carefully

  1. Add any notes explaining the reason for the adjustment if needed

  1. Click Save to complete the adjustment

  1. The system will maintain a record of both the original data and the adjustment

Step 5: Review adjustment records (optional)

  1. To see all adjustments made, search for General Ledger Adjustments Report in the search bar

  1. This report shows a summary of all General Ledger adjustments made across your system
