Understanding Grant Management in the Nonprofit Hub

Grants are one of the most important funding sources for nonprofits—and one of the most time-consuming to manage. Most organizations track grant opportunities in spreadsheets, juggling deadlines, statuses, and reporting across disconnected tools. Grant Management is a dedicated section in the Bonterra Nonprofit Hub that brings foundational grant tracking directly into the platform, so you can manage your full pipeline alongside everything else you do without switching between tools.

Grant Management gives nonprofits a central place to save, track, and pursue grant opportunities from first research through application and award.

Grant Management provides:

  • A purpose-built grant tracking experience within the Nonprofit Hub's left-hand navigation, accessible to all nonprofit users with no setup required.
  • The ability to add grants from two sources: opportunities saved directly from GrantMatch with one click via the Find Matching Grants option, or grants entered manually from any other source via the Manually Track Grants option.
  • A defined set of lifecycle statuses—Saved for Later, Researching, Drafting Application, Submitted, Awarded, and Not Funded—so you always know where each grant stands.
  • A searchable, filterable table of all tracked grants, making it easy to manage a growing pipeline in one place.
  • The ability to connect a grant application URL directly to a tracked record, and to access proposal drafting tools from any grant's detail view.
  • Integrated tracking for grants from Bonterra Deed Grants funders, including application status updates that reflect automatically as the funder reviews your submission.
