Understanding Mobile Messaging Self-Service Onboarding

Mobile Messaging Self-Service Onboarding is a feature in EveryAction that allows your organization to provision and verify a toll-free number for Mobile Messaging entirely on your own, no support ticket or staff assistance required. If your package includes Mobile Messaging and you haven't yet set up a number, you'll see a Begin Setup prompt when you navigate to the Mobile Messaging page.

The setup flow guides you through Twilio's embedded compliance form directly inside EveryAction. You'll enter your organization's business details, tax identification number (EIN), authorized representative information, opt-in proof, and your required compliance messages (opt-in, opt-out, and help keyword responses). These compliance messages are saved automatically to your committee details page once submitted. The entire process takes place inside EveryAction; you won't need to visit any external sites or portals.

Once you submit your application, Twilio reviews the information and returns a decision within 3–5 business days. You can check your verification status, Submitted, Pending, Approved, or Rejected, directly in EveryAction at any time. If your application is rejected, you'll see the specific reasons from Twilio and can make corrections and resubmit on your own without contacting support.

After your number is verified and approved, your committee is enabled for Mobile Messaging and ready to send.

The articles below walk through the setup process step by step and explain what to do if your application is not approved on the first submission.

Before You Begin

Before starting the self-service onboarding process, confirm the following:

Your package includes Mobile Messaging. Many EveryAction packages include Mobile Messaging, along with a set number of messaging credits based on your contact tier (additional credits can be purchased if needed). If you're not sure whether Mobile Messaging is part of your package, or you'd like to add it, contact your account executive or support to confirm.

You do not already have a toll-free number provisioned. Only one toll-free number is supported per committee. If your organization already has a verified number, you will not see the Begin Setup flow.

You have your organization's information ready. During setup, you’ll be asked to provide

  • Your organization's legal business name and address

  • Your Employer Identification Number (EIN)

  • An authorized representative with an email address on your organization's domain (personal email addresses such as Gmail are not accepted; consultants filling out the form on a client's behalf should not enter their own information)

  • Use case details: use case type and use case description

  • A compliant opt-in form, where the opt-in message includes your organization's name, a description of the messages recipients will receive, message frequency, a note that message and data rates may apply, HELP and STOP instructions, and links to your Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy — and where the consent checkbox is not pre-checked, required, or hidden

If your committee requires origin source codes for new contacts, you'll also need a default source code. Having all of this ready before starting the flow will help you avoid delays.

Note: This flow supports toll-free number provisioning only. Short codes, 10DLC, and porting an existing number are not supported at this time.
