Getting Started

To begin using Mobile Messaging effectively, you must first establish a system for managing SMS opt-ins. Mobile carriers enforce strict rules about who can receive SMS text messages, requiring explicit consent from your supporters. There are multiple ways to collect and manage these opt-ins within the platform.

Feature details

SMS opt-in management is a critical component of Mobile Messaging that ensures compliance with regulations and best practices. The system provides several methods for collecting and managing opt-ins: through Online Actions forms, Bulk Uploads for batch processing, manual updates to individual contact records, customized self-service pages, and syncing from ActBlue forms. Additionally, supporters can control their own opt-in status using predefined keywords like JOIN or STOP. Whenever a supporter's opt-in status changes, an automatic confirmation message is sent to provide transparency and protect against spam complaints. The platform also offers reporting features to help you track opt-in statuses across your supporter base.

Tracking your Success

You can monitor your SMS opt-in collection through the Phone Number Report, which includes a column for SMS-opt In status. By grouping out the report by SMS Opt-In Status, you can see the total number of contacts who are opted-in, opted-out, or have an Unknown status, helping you track the growth and health of your messaging audience.
