Creating a Moves Management action plan establishes a structured approach to cultivating major donors and tracking your progress towards fundraising goals.

Step 1: Access the contact record

  1. Find and open the contact record for your potential donor

  1. This can be done through search or from your Major Giving Portfolio prospect queue

Step 2: Create a new action plan

  1. Locate the "Moves Management Action Plans" section on the contact record

  1. Select "Add New Action Plan"

  1. A new form will open for entering your plan details

Step 3: Enter basic plan details

  1. The plan Start Date will default to today

  1. The Status will default to "Identification" (5% probability)

  1. Enter any Designation for the gift (fund or purpose)

  1. Select a Campaign if applicable

  1. Assign a Primary Solicitor (fundraiser responsible for this prospect)

  1. Add Secondary Solicitors if others will be involved

Step 4: Set up the plan ask

  1. Enter the Ask Amount (your target goal)

  1. Enter a Projected Amount (what you realistically expect)

  1. Set an Expected Ask Date for when you plan to make the request

  1. Leave the Result and Result Date blank until after the solicitation

Step 5: Add probability assessments

  1. Enter a value between 0-999 for Readiness (how prepared the donor is)

  1. Enter a value between 0-999 for Likelihood (chance of a positive response)

  1. Enter a value between 0-999 for Capacity (financial ability to make the gift)

Step 6: Save the plan

  1. Review all entered information

  1. Click "Save" to create the plan

  1. After saving, you'll be able to add follow-ups, contact history, notes, and attachments
