Overview
(updated April 22, 2026)
EveryAction's navigation and homepage offer a streamlined experience for finding tools, managing contacts, and accessing reports. With the addition of agentic AI like Que, you can do even more, faster.
As of April 22, 2026, a set of usability improvements have been released to all EveryAction users. These updates make common workflows faster, reduce unnecessary clicks, and give you more flexibility when moving through the product. No action is required on your part, the improvements are automatically applied.
This article is designed to help you get oriented. You don't need to complete every step to use EveryAction successfully, think of this as a guided tour of what's available and what's changed, so you can explore at your own pace.
Step 1: Access the New Navigation
The new navigation and homepage are now available to all EveryAction users as the standard experience.
If you haven't switched over yet, you may still see the Explore New Look toggle in the header. Click it to enable the updated interface.
Once enabled, you'll see the updated header, sidebar navigation, homepage layout, and access to Que.
If you're already using the new navigation, you'll also notice several improvements described in this article, no further action needed.
Step 2: Explore the Updated Header
The updated header keeps key actions easy to find, no matter where you are in the system.
-
User Menu — Access My Profile, Switch Committee, Impersonate User (if permitted), and Log Out.
-
Notifications — View system notifications and support-related updates from the bell icon.
-
Waffle Menu — The waffle menu has been restored to the header, giving you quick access to Online Actions and Targeted Email without navigating through the sidebar. If you previously couldn't find these areas, look for the grid icon in the header.
You don't need to adjust anything here—this section is for awareness.
Step 3: Use the Sidebar Navigation
The left-hand sidebar provides consistent access to tools while allowing more space for your work.
What's new:
-
The sidebar now expands by default each time you start a session, so you don't need to open it manually.
-
You can now expand multiple sidebar sections at the same time. Previously, opening one section would collapse others. Now each section stays open independently, making it easier to move between areas without losing your place.
You can still open or collapse the sidebar at any time using the hamburger icon in the header.
From the sidebar, you can navigate between the main areas of EveryAction. What you see depends on your permissions, but commonly includes areas for contacts, engagement, reporting, and administration.
Additional Sidebar Tools
The sidebar also includes helpful shortcuts you can use whenever you need them:
-
Search for a page — Quickly find tools or pages if you're not sure where something lives.
-
Favorites — Save frequently used pages so you can return to them quickly. The Favorites section now expands by default at the start of each session.
-
Ask Que — Open Que directly from the sidebar whenever you want help or guidance.
-
Provide Feedback — Share suggestions or issues with the product team.
-
Help / Support Resources — Access documentation and submit support requests.
You can use these tools as much—or as little—as you like.
Step 4: Explore the New Homepage Panels
The homepage gives you quick access to information and tools you use most often. Panels shown on your homepage depend on your role, permissions, and activity.
You may see panels such as:
-
Actionable Insights
-
Bulk Upload
-
Disclosure Center
-
Financial Batch Manager
-
Follow Ups
-
Metrics dashboards
-
Phone Banks
-
Ready for You
-
Recent Tools
-
Recently Viewed Contacts
-
Your Reports
-
Your Saved Lists & Searches
You don't need to recognize or use every panel. They're there to help surface information when it's useful to you.
Step 5: Customize Your Homepage Layout
You can personalize your homepage to better match how you work. This is optional and can be changed at any time.
To customize your layout:
-
Click Customize view in the top-right corner of the homepage
-
Make changes such as:
-
Showing or hiding panels
-
Reordering panels by dragging them
-
Adjusting dashboards within the Metrics panel
-
-
Click Update to save your changes
If you'd rather leave the default layout as-is, that's completely fine.
Step 6: Apply Your Favorites Across All Committees (New)
If you have access to multiple committees, you can now apply your Favorites to all of them at once—so you don't have to set them up separately in each committee.
To use this feature:
-
Go to the Manage Favorites page from the sidebar
-
Make your desired changes
-
Click Save
-
An Apply Favorites modal will appear, asking where the updates should apply:
-
Current Committee (selected by default) — applies Favorites only to the committee you're currently viewing
-
All Committees — applies the same Favorites across every committee you have access to
-
Note: Favorite availability depends on your permissions and may vary by committee. When applying to all committees, only available Favorites will appear in each one.
If you don't see this option, it simply means you only have access to one committee.
Step 7: Apply Your Homepage Layout Across All Committees
Similar to Favorites, if you have access to multiple committees, you'll see an additional option when saving homepage customizations.
After clicking Update, you'll be asked whether to apply your homepage layout to:
-
The current committee only, or
-
All committees you have access to
Choosing all committees applies the same layout everywhere you work, so you don't need to repeat customization when switching committees.
Step 8: Switch Between Database Modes
If your account includes access to more than one database mode, you'll see a redesigned switching experience based on how many modes you have access to:
-
2–5 database modes — Tabs appear directly below the header, making it easy to switch between modes at a glance.
-
More than 5 database modes — A single dropdown menu appears at the top of the sidebar, keeping the interface clean while still giving you full access.
This replaces the previous database switching design and is intended to make it clearer which mode you're currently working in.
If you only have access to one database mode, you won't see any change here.
Step 9: Ask Que—Your Fundraising Assistant
You'll find Ask Que on your homepage and in the sidebar. This launches Bonterra Que, your built-in assistant.
Que is available whenever you're ready and is completely optional. You can use it to:
-
Explore donor segments
-
Generate fundraising insights
-
Draft personalized, on-brand fundraising emails
-
Get quick answers while you work
You don't need to use Que right away—think of it as extra support when you want it.
