Understanding the OneCause and EveryAction Integration
The OneCause → EveryAction integration is a one-way, automated sync that moves your special event fundraising data from OneCause directly into EveryAction. Once enabled by your account team, the integration runs in the background every hour, no manual exports, no spreadsheets, no extra steps on your end.
The integration is designed for organizations that use OneCause to run events and rely on EveryAction as their CRM. Before this integration, teams had to manually export data from OneCause and import it into EveryAction after every event, a process that delayed donor follow-up and made stewardship harder. Now, key event data flows into your CRM automatically, so you can engage donors faster, segment more effectively, and spend less time on reconciliation.
Here's what syncs from OneCause into EveryAction:
-
contacts (individual supporters and company records)
-
events
-
event sign-ups and tickets
-
paid contributions (ticket purchases, donations, and other transactions)
-
in-kind donations from event items,
-
and transactions tied to fundraising pages.
The sync is one-way only, nothing moves from EveryAction back to OneCause, and any changes you make directly in EveryAction are protected and won't be overwritten.
Once your event data is in EveryAction, you can find it in a few places.
-
Contacts appear in Quick Look Up and can be filtered by OneCause Supporter ID.
-
Contributions show up on contact records, in Contribution Reports (filtered by source code), and in Financial Batch Manager under batches labeled "OneCause Import."
-
Events appear in the Events module under the type "OneCause Event," and event sign-ups are available on contact records and through Event Participant Reports.
-
Source codes matching your OneCause event or fundraiser name are the primary way to segment and report on event activity.
Feature Availability
The OneCause → EveryAction integration is available to customers who use both OneCause and EveryAction.
Enablement is handled by your account team and requires a few setup details:
-
a sync start date,
-
if your organization has more than one designation,
-
and confirmation of which designation your OneCause transactions should be associated with.
The sync start date is particularly important, it determines how far back the integration will pull data. If you've previously done manual imports from OneCause into EveryAction, your account team will work with you to set the right date and avoid duplicate records.
Current limitations:
-
One-way sync only (OneCause → EveryAction). No bi-directional sync at this time.
-
Only paid transactions sync. Unpaid activity such as pledges, items in cart, or uncommitted sponsorships do not sync.
-
Once a contact, event, or event sign-up syncs into EveryAction, it's read-only, updates made in OneCause afterward won't carry over.
FAQs
How often does the sync run?
Every hour. New OneCause activity will appear in EveryAction throughout the day on a rolling basis — there's nothing you need to do to trigger it.
Why isn't my data showing up in EveryAction?
The most common reason is the sync start date. Only data created on or after that date will sync. That said, if a contact or event existed before the sync start date but has new activity after it — like a ticket purchase — the record will still come through to support that new activity. If you're unsure what sync start date was set, contact your account team.
I updated a contact in OneCause. Why didn't it change in EveryAction?
This is expected behavior. Once a contact syncs into EveryAction for the first time, it's treated as read-only from the integration's perspective. This protects any edits you've made directly in EveryAction from being overwritten. If you need to update a contact, make that change directly in EveryAction.
We already manually imported our OneCause data. Will we get duplicates?
Possibly, if the sync start date overlaps with data you've already imported. Your account team will confirm any prior imports before setting the sync start date to prevent this. If you're concerned about existing data, reach out before enabling the integration.
Why aren't my pledges or unpaid activity syncing over?
The integration only syncs paid transactions. Unpaid activity — pledges, items in carts, pending sponsorships — doesn't come over, and this is intentional. In the days leading up to an event, a lot of activity is still in flux, and syncing it early would create inaccurate records in your CRM. The best approach is to collect payments through OneCause — as transactions are completed, they'll flow into EveryAction automatically.
I'm seeing duplicate contacts after the sync. What happened?
The most common cause is contacts that already existed in EveryAction without an email address or with inconsistent email data, making it impossible for the system to match them to incoming OneCause records. If multiple EveryAction contacts share the same email, the sync links to the oldest record, which may not always be the right one. If you're seeing duplicates, contact support with the specific details.
Can I sync data from EveryAction back into OneCause?
Not at this time. The integration is one-way only: OneCause → EveryAction.
