How do I create a custom Unsubscribe Page?

Step 1: Navigate to 'Online Actions'

From your 'Main Menu', click on 'Online Actions' under the 'Engagement' tile.

Step 2: Click to create a new page

A new tab should open, taking you to the 'Pages' section in 'Online Actions'. Click to expand the 'Create New Page' list and select 'Unsubscribe' from the dropdown.

Step 3: Customize your Unsubscribe Page

Complete the form and follow through each step of the builder to create your Unsubscribe Page.

Note: You can preview your page at any time during this process by clicking the 'Preview' button near the bottom of the page:

Step 3: Save or publish your page

If you need to save a draft to come back to and work on later, click the 'Save' button near the bottom of the page. If you are ready to set your page live, click the 'Publish' button on Step 4: Confirmation of the builder!

Clients often need to setup a custom unsubscribe page to allow granular unsubscribe using Activist Codes - Email Interests I believe - so that client’s supporters who click unsubscribe can opt to not blanket opt-out of all email and just opt-out of specific types or email like no fundraising emails or reduce volume of email like one email per month using Activist Codes to create those segments.  Please add more here on best practices or a companion help doc on this for this key reason/use case for using a custom unsubscribe page. Thanks in advance.

Hi Mathew! Yes, what you’re describing is exactly what Customizable Unsubscribe Pages + Email Interest Activist Codes are for: giving supporters “downsubscribe” options (opt out of certain topics/streams) instead of only a global, blanket unsubscribe. This is great feedback that we will take to make this more clear.

Hello! I would like to learn how people are doing exit surveys with EveryAction unsubscribe pages. (ie: we’re sad to see you go, if you don’t mind, may we ask why you are leaving so we can improve?) There doesn’t seem to be a built in way to do this, so:
A) What are people’s work-arounds?
B) Bonterra: can we get functionality to add custom survey questions or an exit survey to our custom unsubscribe pages?
C) would either A or B require the use of conditional merge fields to determine if the user just updated their subscriptions or fully unsubscribed? What would those conditional statements look like?

Please and thank you!

Hey @tchicka for B: have you submitted this to product feedback within EA? I also forwarded the feedback along to our product team.

Another functionality I’m interested in seeing a way for people to “pause” emails for like a month or so. How would people set that up? I’m thinking some simple form submission from the Unsubscribe page that feeds into an automation that will count the time until it resubscribes or at least, takes them off of a suppression list. Has anyone attempted this functionality with EveryAction?
