Creating a Planned Giving Plan allows you to track and manage the cultivation process for potential planned gifts.
Step 1: Access the Planned Giving section

Navigate to the contact record of your potential donor

Locate the Planned Giving section in the right column panel

Click to open the drawer and view options
Step 2: Start a new plan

Select "Start a Plan" from the Planned Giving drawer

This creates a new Planned Giving Plan with a default status of "Identification"

You can select an alternative status if appropriate
Step 3: Add an information request (if applicable)

If the donor has requested information about planned giving, select "Start a Plan and Add Information Request"

Fill out the requested details about the information being sent

The system will create a plan and set the status to "Identification" (unless you select an alternative option)
Step 4: Add a planned gift (if applicable)

If you're adding a plan for a gift already committed to, select "Start a Plan and Add a Planned Gift"

Select the appropriate gift type (Bequest, Trust, Charitable Gift Annuity, or Pooled Income Fund)

Enter the required gift information

Save the gift details
Step 5: View the full plan

After creating the plan, select "View full plan" at the bottom of the drawer

This allows you to update details and add notes or file attachments

Use the contact record breadcrumb to navigate back to the contact view
