Getting Started

To track planned giving information requests, you'll work primarily with the Planned Giving tab on contact records. You can add information requests individually or in bulk as supporters respond to your solicitations. This tracking serves as the foundation for cultivating potential planned giving donors.

Feature Details

Tracking planned giving information requests allows you to systematically cultivate prospects through the entire planned giving process. When a supporter first expresses interest in planned giving, you can create a Planned Giving Plan with an initial information request. This sets their status to "Identification," marking the beginning of the cultivation process.

For subsequent information requests or responses to planned giving surveys, you can use Activist Codes to track ongoing interest. The system also allows you to document your follow-up activities through Contact History entries, creating a complete record of your cultivation efforts. For organizations managing multiple prospects, bulk tools are available to efficiently track information requests across many contacts simultaneously.

Tracking Your Success / Reporting

By consistently tracking information requests and follow-up activities, you'll be able to generate reports showing which outreach efforts generate the most interest, how quickly your team follows up with interested supporters, and how efficiently you move contacts through the cultivation process. The status field automatically updates to "Identification" when you create an information request, which allows you to filter and report on contacts at this stage of the planned giving process.

Transition Statement

With these tracking tools in place, you'll have a solid foundation for cultivating planned giving prospects and measuring the effectiveness of your outreach efforts.
