🧭 DAF and QCD donations: Record gifts the way they arrive

📅 Release date: Oct. 14, 2026 | 🧩 Product: Network for Good (Donor Management) | ✨ Type: New feature | 👥 Audience: Admins and development staff who record offline gifts

🆕 What's new Network for Good now has payment methods for gifts that arrive from donor-advised funds (DAFs) and IRAs, so you can record them accurately without notes or soft credit workarounds.

  • 💳 Two new options in the Donation Payment Method dropdown: Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) Distribution and Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

  • 🏛️ An optional custodian field, DAF Custodian or IRA Custodian, where you can pick an organization or create a new one.

  • 🧑 The individual stays the donor on the gift. The custodian is recorded alongside it.

  • 📊 DAF and QCD gifts appear with the custodian on the Giving list and contact profiles, in contact filters, and on year-end statements, where they're labeled and left out of the tax-deductible total.

🚫 What's not included Donors can't give from their donor-advised fund on your donation page yet. These payment methods are for gifts you record after a check arrives. IRS-specific QCD acknowledgment language and QCD education content aren't part of this release.

👥 Who is affected All Network for Good customers who record DAF or QCD gifts.

✅ Action required No action is required. The options are available now. Use them the next time you record a DAF or QCD gift.
