Overview
Branched Scripts let canvassers choose different questions or talking points based on a person’s responses, helping conversations feel more natural and targeted.
Step 1: Prepare required items
Before creating a Branched Script, confirm you already have:

Survey Questions
Step 2: Create a new Script

Start from the EveryAction Home page. In the left-hand menu, click Tracking & Codes > Scripts. Or use the Search for a page field and type Scripts.

Open the Scripts page.

Select Add New Script.

Enter the requested Script details.

Choose Branched as the Script type.
Step 3: Add all Script elements
Add elements the same way you would for a Linear Script:

Survey Questions

Activist Codes
Tip: Add all elements first. You can reorder them later.
Step 4: Connect branches

Locate the branch icon next to a Script element.

Use the dropdown menu to select the number of the next element.
For Survey Questions and Activist Codes:

Branch icons appear next to each possible response

Each response can lead to a different element
Required: Every element must either branch to another element or select End before the Script can be saved.
Step 5: Save and use the Script

In MiniVAN, canvassers are guided automatically through the branches.

In Open Virtual Phone Bank, callers select the response they received and are prompted with the next message.
