Overview

Once you've implemented referrer tracking, you can create targeted lists of supporters who acted through shared links to better understand referral patterns.

Step 1: Access the list creation tool

  1. Navigate to your contacts or lists section

  1. Select Create A List to start a new search

Step 2: Use the Online Forms search criteria

  1. Locate the Online Forms section in the search criteria

  1. Expand this section to view the available fields

Step 3: Search using referral criteria

  1. To find contacts who took action through shared links, use these fields:

  1. Referred By: Search for contacts referred by a specific supporter

  1. Referred Through: Find contacts who used links shared via specific channels (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

  1. Set your search parameters based on which referred contacts you want to find

Step 4: Add additional search criteria (optional)

  1. Narrow your search with additional criteria such as:

  1. Form Name: Focus on specific campaigns or actions

  1. Date Range: Find referrals within a specific time period

  1. Form Type: Search for referrals to specific form types (petitions, donations, etc.)

Step 5: Save and use your list

  1. Run your search to generate a list of contacts who used shared links

  1. Save your search criteria if you want to run this list again in the future

  1. Use this list for targeted follow-up, analysis, or to identify patterns in referred actions
