How do I troubleshoot social sharing issues in my online form?
Overview
Social media platforms cache sharing information, which can cause outdated content to appear when your form is shared. You can use platform-specific tools to refresh this cached information.
Step 1: Identify the issue

Check if your form is showing outdated or incorrect information when shared on social media

Note which platform(s) are displaying the wrong information (Facebook, Twitter/X, or both)

Verify that you've properly configured the social sharing settings on your form
Step 2: Clear Facebook's cache

Go to the Facebook debugger tool at https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/

Enter the public URL of your form in the input field

Click the Debug button

Look for the Time Scraped result and click the Scrape Again button next to it

Review the preview to ensure your updated content appears correctly
Step 3: Clear Twitter's (X) cache

Navigate to Twitter's Card Validator tool

Enter your form's URL in the validator

Submit the form to clear their cache

Note that it may take approximately 5 minutes for the cache to fully clear

Test sharing your form again after waiting
Step 4: Verify your changes

After clearing the cache on both platforms, try sharing your form again

Check that the correct image, title, and description now appear

If issues persist, double-check your form's configuration and repeat the cache clearing process

If you're using a custom theme with your online form, make sure it's properly coded to use the social media metadata merge fields, as this could also cause sharing issues.
