Use this when someone tells you which phone number they prefer to be contacted at.
Start from a contact record you already have open.
Steps
-
In the Phones section, click the chevron > button that says More.
-
Click the three dots (more options menu) and choose Edit phones.
-
Locate the phone number you want to mark as preferred. Click the three dots (more options menu) next to that number and select Set as preferred.
That’s it — the number is now marked as Preferred.
How Preferred Works
-
You can only have one Preferred phone number at a time.
-
Manually marked Preferred numbers always take precedence.
-
If none are marked Preferred, the most recently added number with Device Type: Cell is prioritized.
-
Once manually set, Preferred must be changed manually.
If you’re unsure which number should be preferred, confirm with the supporter first.
