How do I review and resolve pre-upload errors with Better Bulk Upload?

One of the most significant improvements in Better Bulk Upload is the ability to catch and fix data errors before your upload is finalized. This article explains how to read the error review screen and what to do when issues are flagged.

Step 1: Reach the Error Review Step

Complete the file upload, settings, and mapping steps in Better Bulk Upload. EveryAction will automatically validate your data and display the error review screen before the upload is submitted.

Step 2: Review Flagged Errors

The error review screen lists any issues found in your file. Each error shows the row or field affected, a description of the problem, and guidance on what needs to be corrected. Read through the full list before taking action.

Step 3: Determine How to Address Each Error

For each flagged issue, you have a few options depending on the error type:

• Fix the source file — If the error is a data problem (e.g., a malformed date or invalid value), update your file outside of EveryAction, then re-upload it from the beginning.

• Adjust your field mapping — If the error is caused by an incorrectly mapped field, go back to the mapping step to correct it.

• Skip or exclude the affected rows — If available, you may be able to proceed while excluding the problematic rows from the upload.

Step 4: Re-Run Validation if Needed

After making corrections, re-upload or re-map as needed and return to the error review step to confirm all issues have been resolved. Repeat until no blocking errors remain.

Step 5: Complete the Upload

Once errors are resolved, proceed to finalize the upload. EveryAction will process your file and display the results in the batch view screen.
