Getting Started

To create an Eliminator File (also known as a suppression file), begin by navigating to Create a List in your database. Here, you'll build a search that includes all contacts you want to exclude from a vendor's acquisition efforts. Once your search is complete, you can export it as either a Mail Eliminator File or an Email Eliminator File.

Feature details

Eliminator Files are essential tools for efficient donor acquisition campaigns, allowing you to prevent vendors from targeting people already in your database when conducting mail or email acquisition efforts. These files contain identifying information about your existing contacts that vendors can use to remove matching records from their prospecting lists. The system automatically includes contacts who were deleted in the past 12 months (except for merged records) and can also incorporate deceased contacts and those marked as "Do Not Mail" if you choose. You can customize your export format based on vendor requirements, with options for Excel or tab-delimited files and security features like email hashing. The process creates standardized files that include unique identifiers for each contact name and address combination, ensuring comprehensive suppression across your acquisition campaigns.
