Release Notes | Week of July 13 | Apricot 8.58.1
Overview
This release adds a new sign-in/sign-out workflow to the Registration Grid, giving staff a faster, more accurate way to track attendance. It also includes improvements to form field configuration, import capabilities, and security updates.
Enhancements
Registration Grid | Sign-in/sign-out for participants
Staff can now capture signatures and track attendance directly from the Registration Grid without leaving the page. When a Tier 2 form includes a signature field configured for sign-in, sign-out, or both, a Sign In / Sign Out button appears at the top of the corresponding date column.

Clicking the button opens a roster of enrolled participants. Select a participant, capture their signature, and the system automatically records the timestamp and logs the witnessing staff member — no manual date or time entry needed. Attendance status updates in real time on the grid, and each signed entry creates a verifiable audit trail for funder, licensing, or internal policy requirements.
You can also extend this workflow to participants and parents/guardians signing in at a kiosk during a class session. To learn more, click here.
Coming soon: automated date formatting for Canada and Australia, filtering by sign-in/sign-out status, and improved mobile responsiveness.
Form fields | Configurable clear selection button
Administrators can now control whether the Clear Selection option appears on individual Radio, Masked Radio, User List, and Likert Scale fields. Previously, the button appeared globally whenever it was enabled at the system level.
The setting is configured per field in Field Properties and defaults to off. This gives administrators more precise control over how users interact with form data — especially in cases where clearing a selection could compromise data integrity.
Imports | Additional state information support
The Imports tool now supports state additional information fields, so organizations that track supplementary state-level data can include it as part of their import workflow. This reduces the need to manually enter that information after an import is complete.
Security updates
This release includes security updates across several platform components. These updates are applied automatically and require no action from you or your administrators.
Fixes
Batch records | Gateway timeout error on large record sets
Creating a batch record set of 400 or more records previously returned a gateway timeout error on the front end, even though the records were still being created in the background. Large batch operations now complete without displaying a misleading error message.
Forms | Checkbox field validation error
A checkbox field incorrectly flagged as invalid when the Allow Other option was not enabled. Checkbox fields now validate correctly across all configurations.
