Have you submitted your ideas in the Ideas Portal?

Hi all! We've been hearing some really great ideas from users on product enhancements — if you haven't visited the Ideas Portal yet, it's worth a look.

It's where Apricot users submit feature requests and wish-list items directly to the product team — things like a workflow you wish existed, a report you can't quite build, or a step that feels clunkier than it should. The team reviews submissions regularly and pulls from them when planning future updates.

It's one of the most direct ways to influence what comes next in Apricot.

Hi Ange - is there any possibility the ideas portal will be moved over to bonterra central?

Great question Naomi! We’ll be aligning with our Product teams before making any decisions about moving the Ideas Portal to Bonterra Central, but it’s definitely something we’re currently exploring! Do you think having it in Bonterra Central would make things more efficient for you? Would love to hear your feedback!

I’m sure not everyone will agree but I think it will make things simpler. Right now we have separate sites for Apricot, Connect, the ideas portal, apricot articles / community conversations, and managing support tickets. If the idea is to make Bonterra Central a central location for information, moving the ideas portal there would do that. It would mean one less place to go to interact with Bonterra.

Also, on a related note, the platform we have access to for managing our tickets (help.bonterratech.com) desperately needs some TLC. I would recommend adding this to Bonterra Central too and making it possible to see closed tickets. Right now we’re only able to see open tickets and there’s a bunch of different things to piece together to see the full ticket history. It’s not a great system. Even the emails we get are very disjointed and can take some real effort to see the storyline if you have a few tickets open at once. Internally we use SolarWinds for service desk tickets and (while I’m sure it’s not practical for a larger agency like yours) it’s significantly better than the support ticket system with Bonterra right now.

I’m sure others will disagree but I say move everything to Bonterra central and make the ticket system more user friendly. These quality of life updates would make a much bigger impact than things like the impact hub. They would reduce time we’re spending managing system challenges and allow that time to be used supporting our direct service staff, program managers, and funders.
