Understanding Duplicate Management
Que's Duplicate Management skill automatically detects potential duplicate contact records in your EveryAction database, surfaces them through a clear and intuitive interface, and makes it easy to resolve them quickly, no manual searching or one-by-one record hunting required.
A nightly detection model runs silently in the background, scoring every potential duplicate pair in your database by confidence level (High, Medium, or Low). Results are surfaced on a dedicated Duplicate Management page in EveryAction, giving your team full visibility into your data quality and a fast path to resolution. All merges are human-initiated and reviewed, no records are changed without your explicit action.
What can Duplicate Management with Que do for you?
Que's Duplicate Management skill helps Maria, a Database Manager at a regional food bank, tackle a duplicate backlog that's been growing for months. Maria clicks through to the Duplicate Management page, where pairs are sorted by confidence and displayed side by side with key contact details for each record. She reviews the top matches, merges the clear duplicates in a few clicks using the integrated merge workflow, and dismisses one pair that isn't actually a match, marking it as "Not a match" so it won't resurface. By the end of the session, her database is cleaner, her team can trust the data they're working with, and she didn't have to run a single search query to get there.
Key Features at a Glance
| Feature | Description | What to Expect |
|---|---|---|
| Confidence Scoring | Every potential duplicate pair is scored nightly by the detection model and ranked High, Medium, or Low, so your team can prioritize the clearest matches first. | Pairs are sorted on the Duplicate Management page: High confidence appears first, followed by Medium and Low. |
| Side-by-Side Record Review | The Duplicate Management page displays each identified pair with key contact details shown side by side, making it easy to compare records before deciding what to do. | Review name, contact info, and other key fields for both records before choosing to merge or dismiss. |
| Merge Duplicates | Merge a duplicate pair directly from the Duplicate Management page using the existing EveryAction merge workflow, now integrated into the page so you never lose your place in the workflow. | Merged pairs are logged and removed from the queue. No merge can occur without your explicit review and action. |
| Dismiss Non-Matches | If a pair isn't actually a duplicate, dismiss it as "Not a match." That specific pairing won't resurface. Other pairs involving either record are unaffected. | Dismissed pairs are removed from your active queue. A contact with multiple potential duplicates can still appear in other pairs. |
| Merge Audit Trail | All resolved pairs are tracked so your team can audit which contacts were merged and when. | Merged pairs are logged and removed from the active queue for clean recordkeeping. |
