State/Province Population Inconsistency

Hello all! Our organization has a lot of international donors. The way EA forms are intended to work is when the US/Canada is selected it populates a dropdown box in State/Province. For other countries (all other countries?) it disables the verification so that the State/Province can be manually entered. Sometimes, however, the manual State/Province entry isn’t accepted, still returning the error “State/Province is required.” Has anyone else had experience with this? I may have narrowed it down that it’s most likely to happen, when multiple forms are on the same webpage.

Appreciate anyone else’s input or experience on managing international donors, which I know seems to be a small part of the EA network/focus. Thanks!

We ended up changing which address fields we require - particularly for international registrants for our trainings.

I believe our forms have zip and state/province listed as optional even for the US and just hope that people fill it out fully.

@moira  any additional insight from how our forms are set?

@jeff Correct, we ensure that “accept submissions from supporters living outside of the United Sates” is checked. We require the city field, and make the state/province and postal code optional.

@jeff @moira — Interesting approach, I will probably use this on problem forms or placements. Thank you both!
