Good morning all! As I plan out our Best Practice Coaching Events for 2026, I want to know what topics YOU would find most impactful. Please share in the thread topic areas you would like our fundraising coaches to dive into next year.

Ideas: Capital Campaigns, Corporate Sponsorships, AI in Fundraising

PS: if you haven’t attended one of our Coaching Events - check out our Events page here!

Hi, Megan! You all do a great job bringing in coaches, and as a newcomer to the world of fundraising, I really enjoy their expertise. Here are a few topics that have been on my mind:

  1. How do we incentivize a recurring gift program? We’d love to expand our monthly donor pool by building out “incentives” for those who pledge, but we don’t want to upset larger donors who may be giving more money once or twice a year. What tips do you have for increased monthly giving?
  2. What are the best practices for publicly acknowledging donors? A page on our website? A sign at events? Currently, we don’t have a public listing of donors, but I’m curious about where we should start!
  3. Annual Reports: Do we or don’t we? We promote our work frequently and send a condensed year-end mailer, but we don’t compile a true annual report. The reasoning is that so few people will actually read it, it’s not worth such a large amount of staff time. What’s the trend among other nonprofits?

@Lark Valente thank you so much for sharing these ideas!

re: annual reports, I see many orgs going the way of creating an Issuu document (online “magazine”) to save money on  printing and postage. Definitely takes time to design, still.

Interested to hear from others on their annual report perspective, too.
