Contributions Report - Add Attribution Type Column

Currently, you can do that in the Attributions & Soft Credits Report, but not the Contribution Report. In the Attributions & Soft Credits Reports you can filter by Attribution Type, and have the type displayed as a column that you can sort and group your data by. This report also will allow you to pull in Assigned Staff, Source Code and Campaign as well (for your fundraiser data). At this time, the Contribution Report only provides the name of the person attributed on the gift but no other attribution data. I believe they are working on an overhaul of Report Manager, but they haven’t shared a release date when we can expect to see any enhancements, yet. 

Attributions and Soft Credits is interesting. It is so close but still not exactly what I need.

The problem here is that each Attribution appears on a separate line making it look like multiple gifts. What I really need is Fundraiser(s) in one column and Soft Credit(s) in a different column so we can quickly review the report. 

Also, it will not include gifts that don’t have any Attributions.

Is there a way to export the fields I want? I could then build the report I need outside the system.

I’d have to look further, as I don’t currently see a direct way to do this that matches your exact workflow. 

One thing you could do is export both the Contribution Report (that contains the combined attributed names in one cell) and the Attributions & Soft Credits Report (that contains the Attribution Type data). Then in Excel use an XLOOKUP matching on Contribution ID to bring the Attribution Type data into the exported Contribution Report.

Thank you so much for trying. Every product I have ever used seemed to get me 95% of the way but almost never 100%. 

This is such a small thing that seems very basic and is a standard report everywhere I have worked, yet, I have always had to combine reports to get it done. 

I really do appreciate your help though.

I’m just chiming in to verify that the contribution report and attribution report have to be pulled separately and that it is incredibly frustrating.  I am hoping that the reporting overhaul Bonterra hinted at will finally allow access to every data point.  I try to submit a product feedback item on reporting every week in the hopes that it will be prioritized.
