PowerAutomate for Automated Reports

I scheduled a Contributions Report to run weekly and include all contributions added the prior week. The intention was to send this report to a specific group of people including non-users.

The problem with the report is that it needs to be downloaded and not all users will have the ability to log into EveryAction.

In our previous system, I used PowerAutomate to create an html table in the body of an email. The flow automatically retrieved the contributions based on the date added, updated the table and emailed it to the list.

Can this be replicated in EveryAction using PowerAutomate?

Hey @sfioribello, let me jump in. When it comes to scheduled reports, the recipient does NOT need to be a user in EveryAction in order to download the report. They just need to be able to open the file on whatever device they are using. So, if the report recipient is trying to access their report from a smartphone and they don’t have the ability to open a .csv file on that phone they would be prevented from doing so.

For the email receipt, you could create an automation that accomplishes this right in EveryAction. You would need to have all necessary email addresses on that contact’s record and then create an automation just for that person (fortunately, you have unlimited automations).

If you do want to integrate Microsoft’s full power suite with EveryAction, the best way to do that is using our pipeline tool which allows for a full, read only database replication into the warehouse of your choice, including Azure. We can host or you can, it is up to you. That might be overengineered for just the two use cases listed above but it is an option.

Now I am back in the office I just remembered another use case for PowerAutomate.

I have one monthly donor for whom I need to send acknowledgements for every gift to multiple email addresses. This donor’s company matches gifts but requires a receipt for every single gift (previously an annual statement was sufficient).

I use PowerAutomate to look for a gift from this one specific donor and automatically email a receipt to all the email addresses he requested.

Hey @sfioribello - I’m not sure if this can be done with EA and Power Automate. I reached out to some other EA experts to see if they know and I’ll update you here.

While I do think that you are correct that warehousing might be overengineering for this particular case use, I do think that it is an interesting idea and might solve other issues we want to address.

Is the pipeline tool an additional cost? Where could I find out more information?

It is an additional cost. Your account executive will be able to give you more information and pricing, please reach out to them.
